About the Remodeling Process
At AB Cabinets we take a different approach to remodeling
than other companies. Our process systematizes and simplifies remodeling to
create a pleasant experience for the client while producing exceptional work.
Our process has four major steps that are broken into a smooth workflow.
THE REMODELING PROCESS
Step One
Meet for a FREE consultation with a Certified Remodeling Consultant at your
home or in one of our showrooms. We don't charge $100 to $2500 just to meet
with you like other companies
Step Two
We'll advise you on what will look good; and more importantly, on what will
work well in your space. Using custom software applications we will design,
plan, price, and determine all the necessary material for your project to
be built to your specifications
Step Three
After materials are selected, our employee, whose main responsibility is to
make sure all products are ordered properly and tracked so they are received
when expected, oversees your order.
Step Four
You'll be assigned your own personal Project Manager to oversee all aspects
of your entire project from construction to final touch-ups, ensuring it is
completed on time and on budget
We found that by using a system, we're able to avoid many of the pitfalls
that other contractors stumble into.
REMODELING YOUR KITCHEN OR BATHROOM
So, you've decided to do that remodeling project you've been dreaming
of. When it comes to remodeling, some say to expect the best but prepare for
the worst. At AB Cabinets, we believe you can insure your
remodeling process will run as smoothly as possible by following three simple
steps.
Step One
Decide where you will live during the renovation. Depending on the scope of
work, you might consider moving out for at least part of the project. Your
remodeling consultant and project manager will help you plan and coordinate
this. For example, it's usually easier to remain in your space without
a kitchen than without a bathroom – especially if you only have one.
During a complete bathroom renovation, you will be without working plumbing
fixtures for at least two weeks. Although it could take less time, plan for
a full two weeks and prepare for unexpected challenges. Many AB Cabinets clients plan a vacation during the "rough" stages of
construction - demolition, plumbing, tiling, etc. Don't forget to plan
for your pets. Although we have completed hundreds of remodeling projects
in which cats have remained on site, dogs often require more planning.
Step Two
Plan where you'll keep your furniture, valuables and other belongings
before your space turns into a construction site. A lot of dust and debris
can get kicked up during a renovation. If this is a major concern, you may
want to consider moving out and storing your belongings until your project
is completed. Crews also work quicker and more easily in an empty space. In
addition, AB Cabinets may discount a project if there
is no need to deal with furniture. If your stuff must stay, don't worry.
AB Cabinets professionals will take special care in moving
and covering your furniture and belongings.
Step Three
Double check that you have ordered every single item you will need to complete
your project. This includes the items installed at the very end of a project
- door handles, light fixtures, hardware and accessories. The number one thing
that can stall a project and delay its completion is a hold-up with materials.
Often clients order their big items up front - cabinets, tile, etc. - but
delay in ordering the rest because they figure they have plenty of time. Not
so. Lead times on those last few items can hold up the entire project. If
an item is missing or does not fit, the crew must wait until the product arrives
to continue. For this reason, we recommend clients select and order everything
well before the project is scheduled to begin. At AB Cabinets,
we promise to provide you with all the advice, assistance and service you'll
need to make the best selection for your project. All you'll need to
do is place the order.
If you follow these three steps you will be able to relax once your project
is underway. Your AB Cabinets project manager will handle
every detail - from start to finish - and update you daily on the progress until
the project is completed to your satisfaction.
